Rhythmic Pulse Vest

Inspired by the natural ups and downs of life’s journey, the Rhythmic Pulse vest features three vertical ribs woven into contrasting horizontal stripes. It symbolizes the resilience of the human spirit: whether you are riding high or pushing through a low point, life keeps moving forward, and the surface is always within reach.

Designed with a modern, fitted silhouette and English-style shoulder style, this vest is worked from the top down. Starting with the back, using Japanese short rows to shape the shoulders, the back tapers from a bold, wide shoulder to a narrower back. The fronts are picked up from each shoulder, then joined at the front neck to be worked as the back. The front and back are joined at the underarm to be worked in the round, with a customizable body (straight or shaped). Finished with an elegant high-neck and strategically shaped armhole ribbing, which accentuates its contemporary silhouette.

The pattern includes detailed video tutorials for all advanced techniques: from Japanese short rows, through all cable types, to closing the folded neckband and binding off the 2x2 ribbing.

NEEDLES & HOOKS

Main needles: Size US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, 32”- 40” (80-100 cm) cable.

Ribbing needles: Size US 3 (3.0 mm) circular needles, 32” - 40” (80 - 100 cm) cable for body /16” - 20” (40 - 50 cm) cable for neck and armhole ribbing.

Crochet hook / another pair of ribbing needles for closing the neck: same or smaller than ribbing needles.

GAUGE after blocking:

24 sts and 36 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stripes pattern on main needle.
