Rhythmic Pulse Gloves

The gloves begin at the cuff with a 2x2 ribbing that flows seamlessly up the back of the hand, contrasted by a smooth stockinette background. Shaped with easy increases at the sides of the thumb gusset, the pattern lets you choose between three finger-styles to suit your taste and skill level: a quick and chic fingerless version, a cozy half-finger option, or the ultimate full-fingered glove for those who love to take their handknits all the way.

The pattern includes detailed video tutorials for all cable types, 2x2 ribbing bind-off, grafting the tips of the fingers, and avoiding gaps at the sides of the thumb.

The back-hand pattern is charted and includes a video tutorial that shows the full row for each direction of rib movement, helping you navigate the chart with confidence.

For true adventure knitters looking for an extra spark of creativity, the pattern includes a video tutorial to add a pop of color to the back-of-hand ribbing, enhancing the gorgeous stitch detail even more.

NEEDLES & HOOKS

Main Needles: US size 2.5 (3 mm) DPNs, OR circular needles, 9” (25 cm) cable for small circumference / 32”- 40” (80 - 100 cm) cable to work the magic loop method / two identical 16” (40 cm) cables to work with 2 circular needles.

Ribbing needles: US size 2 (2.75 mm) needles, in the same type of needles as your main needles.

Optional - for the thumb and fingers:

Main fingers’ needles (for all glove types): US size 2.5 (3 mm) short DPNs, or an identical size to your main needle, if you changed to obtain the correct gauge.

Ribbing fingers’ needles (for fingerless/half fingers gloves only): US size 2 (2.75 mm) short DPNs, or an identical size to your main needle, if you changed to obtain the correct gauge.

GAUGE:

30 sts and 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st.

Adjust the needle size as necessary to achieve the correct gauge.
